I've been addicted to alcohol for about 10 years. I drink mostly to deal with depression, anxiety, and stress. But my behavior while drinking has ruined most of the meaningful relationships I've had and is slowly destroying my life.
I'm tired of alcohol controlling my life and am finally ready to make a change.

Just joined the app and forum myself.. 14 months sober.. without AA, but with psychotherapy.. It's good that you are conscious that booze is doing more harm than good .. Not embibing is the hardest the first few months.. then you slowly get used to it
Don’t give up. If you relapse, keep getting back up and trying again. I’ve done the sober thing more times than I can count, and I’m finally starting to get somewhere.
If your cravings are really bad, I suggest seeing a doctor and getting on some acampro and naltrexone. Those meds are the only reason I’ve been sober for a period of time
thank you for the words of encouragement and advice.
Antabuse helps, it takes away the “I can have just 1” thoughts
Antabuse was a Godsend for me.. And I'm an atheist!
