Consciously breathe away the stress.

Conscious breathing is far different from the unconscious, unthinking, automatic breathing we usually do. Conscious breathing takes concentration and it may be the most effective antidote to stress. At least, it should be the first line of defense. Remember to do conscious slow breathing coupled with visualization of a peaceful place and the mental repetition of a relaxing phrase. My visualization is my little white dog, and my phrase is "I unconditionally love and accept myself."

To-do:

Today become aware of the rate you are breathing and slow it down until it takes at least 3 seconds to inhale and 5 seconds to exhale. Repeat four times while adding a visualization and relaxing phrase. Consider setting your alarm to remind you to do this 10 second exercise every three hours.
