The only difference between a flower and a weed is judgment.

It's not what's happening, it's what we think about it. A rainy day may be depressing to one person and peaceful to another. With time, my alcoholism changed from something horrific to something for which I am actually grateful because it forced me to practice the 12 steps which have immeasurably improved my life. Judging can be based on preconceptions, other people, our own moods and many other factors that are not even related to what we think we are judging. Judgment can make us feel depressed, anxious, ashamed, and even resentful. Judgment seems to be so heavily influenced by our own attitudes that we may be wiser simply not to judge. It may be be better to accept. Especially when something is frustrating me, I try to remember not to judge the situation as good or bad because time often changes my judgment.

To-do:

Today, try not to judge and if possible try to see something positive in a person, place or thing that you find negative.
