Powerless over myself?

Sometimes I hear that the one thing you can control is yourself. That is so untrue. As an addict, I cannot control myself. I need to recognize and admit that I am powerless to change my attitude without help. I need a new manager: Managers can be a lot of different things for different disorders. For eating, it might be a nutritionist. Other examples could be a good therapist, a support group, NA, treatment, etc. For me, that manager is AA. So I do what AA teaches me. I live the 12 steps, and I pray to my Higher Power as I understand Him to let me focus on gratitude, flexibility and perspective.

To-do:

I am powerless over myself. That is why I need the "We" of the program and the remaining 11 steps. I need to remember that "We" is the first word of the first step.
