Serenity means letting go

Last night, the internet went out during the third quarter of the football game involving the team I love. In the old days, I would have been enraged, frustrated, miserable. I would have pounded down drink after drink while cursing uncontrollably on hold with my internet service provider. But last night, I calmly unplugged and replugged the router. Unfortunately the internet still did not work. I then called customer service and listened to their music for over an hour before giving up and going to sleep. But I went to sleep peacefully even though the internet was still broken. This morning, I woke up without a hangover. I wasn't particularly worried one way or another whether the internet was working. Nevertheless, when I looked at the router, both green lights were on and after checking all the devices, they were all working again. More than getting my way by having  the internet work, I am grateful today that I can get a good night's sleep without things being my way.

To-do:

Today, let go of controlling results. Open your hands and breathe when conflict comes. Just do the next right thing and accept outcomes whatever they may be. Like losing the internet or being unable to watch a favorite show, you will be surprised at what you can peacefully live without.  Peace and light!
