The three most dangerous words for an addict are "I've been thinking"

Especially when you are new, just do actions you are told to do by your treatment team; don't think about them. Your brain is your worst enemy. According to the American Medical Association, the disease of addiction affects your brain. You should not trust your brain, especially if you are new. Turn your life and will over to the care of your Sponsor and your support group. They are a big part of your Higher Power.

Also, try to stay active. It is dangerous if you are just doing nothing and you are thinking about the past or the future or even just daydreaming.

To-do:

Catch yourself if you find that your mind is wandering or fantasizing or telling you that you weren't that bad. Try not to come up with any ideas about how you should operate your recovery program. Rather, ask questions about what you should do.
