In my experience, in general, all relapses shows a kind of planning. If you look to it in details, you can see an 'architecteture of relapse' , which can occurs in a short or long space of time. It’s good to discuss with somebody (sponsor, therapist or in a meeting) and it could be clear.

You are so right joselurker- relapses really do have a very specific format of fall. Journalling really helps to see one's pattern. mine was binge then feel horrible 4 a few days, then remorseful for more, then feeling ok, then riding th craves out and feelin great then feeling good about it makin alot of future plans then feelin overwhelmed then eventually crashing, all in eithr a few weeks or months.
