If you do what you did, you'll get what you got

The person I was will drink again. Therefore, I must change. The first time I heard this I was offended. I didn't want to be brainwashed, but a good washing was what I needed. Changing meant doing things differently. For example, to change I had to go to recovery meetings instead of bars and help others without worrying about what I was getting in return. The result was that I did not get the misery I had while drinking. Instead, I received a loving family and an improved lifestyle.

To-do:

Don’t fear change. You will be keeping the best of your current self and getting rid of the baggage that is bringing you down. Embrace change today by asking your Sponsor what a sober person should do. Turn offended feelings around by discussing them with your Sponsor. Sometimes we need to change resentment to forgiveness and understanding.
