Recovery is a simple program for complicated people. It is a process of unlearning self defeating habits developed by our imbalanced egos. Kindergarten principles like "Concentrate on what you are doing," "Mind your own business," and, "Tell the truth," are recovery paradigms. Stress dissipates as we live a simpler life by following these principles. Our ego doesn't have to work as hard when we keep it simple. As a result, we are pushed further from bad feelings, alcohol, other drugs, and other self-defeating behaviors.
Today I am going to repeat to myself K.I.S.S. throughout the day. Keep It Simple Someone I love (which is me). Instead of trying to control others, I am going to concentrate on what I am doing and mind my own business.
