When you try to control others, they control you.

So you think you want to control people, places and things? You think this will give you power or perhaps peace. You may even think you can help them by controlling them. But what happens is they control you. They make you obsessed. They make you a nag. They even make you a victim. You lose power by controlling others because it takes energy to control. You lose peace and freedom  by controlling others because you are imprisoned by your need to control. You lose sobriety by trying to control your drug of choice because controlling it causes it to control you. Eventually anything you try to control will become uncontrollable. It's wiser to do your Higher Power's will and leave the controlling to your Higher Power.
