From Jail to Yale, a Park Bench to Park Place, you are welcome here

One of the best things about 12 step meetings is the diversity. Everyone is welcome. You just need a desire to stop using. You don't even need an honest desire (the founders took the word "honest" out of the Traditions to encourage people who were unsure about whether or not they really were an addict to try the program). 12 step programs know that addiction does not respect age, race, gender, sexual orientation, etc. Nobody cares what car you drive or how much money is in your pocket. When you visit the first sober house in Akron, Ohio, you are greeted with the words, "Welcome Home."

To-do:

"There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments, and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance - that principle is contempt prior to investigation." -Herber Spencer  TODAY, I WILL GIVE A 12 STEP MEETING A TRY. Even though I may not like all the people there, I will remember it's principles rather than personalities that count.
