You know what takes down a big shot? A little shot.

You know what takes down a big shot? A little shot.

When I start getting cocky, egotistical, and full of myself, I actually become more sensitive to the little ups and downs of life. When I am arrogant, I think that I should not be subjected to what everyone else must endure. This state of mind renders me susceptible to a precipitous fall if I experience a “little shot”. A little shot might be a criticism or a small event that I take too seriously. It is anything that happens to pierce my bloated ego. For alcoholics and drug addicts, an enlarged ego often leads to the feeling that one can handle the first drink or drug which is a great mistake.

To-do:

To do:  Today I will be careful not to let my ego bloat. I will remember that I am a regular human being who needs to stay humble and “right sized” mentally. I will not pick up the first little shot of whiskey, pot, or begin to act out in an addictive way.
