A broken brain cannot fix a broken brain.

According to the American Medical Association, the organ that is injured with addiction is the brain. If you have accepted that you have addiction, you need treatment. But if you trust your own damaged brain to lead the treatment, you are not making sense. Isolating does not help. Believing you are cured doesn't help because this is a chronic injury which can only be arrested depending upon a change of one's daily lifestyle. It is never cured completely. So, even though we are not using, we need a program to avoid relapse. Also, labeling 12 step meetings as an addiction doesn't help.

Trust your recovery team, not yourself. This takes faith. When you see the miracles of others' changed lives, your faith will grow and help you. Follow Good Orderly Direction=G.O.D.
